Ngetich, Ozaki prevail in ‘Battle of Marathon’ – Athens Marathon report (8 November 2009) - Despite a promising lead, Ethiopian Alemayehu Ameta cracked in the last 5 kilometres to finish fourth. Josephat Kipkirui Ngetich, in only his second marathon, won with the second fastest time in the race's history. Ethiopian Eshetu Degefa came in second in the women's race.
